OCLC have compiled a list of the top 1000 books held by member libraries, which is a lot, even if there is a marked American bias (the US census comes top, for instance). I’ve read four of the top ten, not including quite a lot of the Bible.
Crooked Timber has links to other lists, often discussed on the site; OCLC have compiled a list of lists from various sources, including for example the BBC’s Big Read, as well as a list comparing some of the OCLC results with other lists and prizes won.
You cannot now complain of feeling listless on a Monday morning.
